To and From, Boom Gallery, 2019
To and From is a collection of abstract landscape paintings coming together from time spent in the bushy, brambly and wind protected paths behind shorelines of a handful of Australian beaches (predominantly the Victorian Surf Coast).
The subtle changes of shapes, hues and textures witnessed and experienced walking the same paths over and over at different times of day to and from the beach come together in each painting. Rather than representing a moment in time the works come together intuitively, from memory and a collection of snapshots are pieced together to form each work.
